Review for NeurIPS paper: Stochastic Normalization
Though the reviewers remark that the paper brings no insights/analysis, it was well-received by reviewers on average as an empirical architecture design idea, addressing an important problem. The experimental validation is conducted to the standards in the field and shows that the method is empirically useful. The combination BSS StochNorm is particularly promising. The authors are invited to submit the final version, considering the following improvements: - the paper can be densified to avoid self-repetitions and redundancy (of definitions of normalizations, descriptions of the contribution -- something like trice, of the existing methods, the algorithm and its description and Fig 1) - this space and the 9th page could be used to clarify important details of the experimental setup that are needed to understand what is the basis of comparison: how the hyperparameters are chosen per method, whether the 5 trials include a random train-validation splitting; include additional results from the rebuttal and discuss more along along the points below relating to the literature. As pointed out by reviewers, using moving averages is princily different from using batch statistics in that the moving average is considered as a constant for back-propagation.
Robot Detection System 1: Front-Following
Front-following is more technically difficult to implement than the other two human following technologies, but front-following technology is more practical and can be applied in more areas to solve more practical problems. Front-following technology has many advantages not found in back-following and side-by-side technologies. In this paper, we will discuss basic and significant principles and general design idea of this technology. Besides, various of novel and special useful methods will be presented and provided. We use enough beautiful figures to display our novel design idea. Our research result is open source in 2018, and this paper is just to expand the research result propagation granularity. Abundant magic design idea are included in this paper, more idea and analyzing can sear and see other paper naming with a start of Robot Design System with Jinwei Lin, the only author of this series papers.
Participatory Design of AI with Children: Reflections on IDC Design Challenge
Bai, Zhen, Judd, Frances, Polinsky, Naomi, Yadollahi, Elmira
Children growing up in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be most impacted by the technology across their life span. Participatory Design (PD) is widely adopted by the Interaction Design and Children (IDC) community, which empowers children to bring their interests, needs, and creativity to the design process of future technologies. While PD has drawn increasing attention to human-centered AI design, it remains largely untapped in facilitating the design process of AI technologies relevant to children and their community. In this paper, we report intriguing children's design ideas on AI technologies resulting from the "Research and Design Challenge" of the 22nd ACM Interaction Design and Children (IDC 2023) conference. The diversity of design problems, AI applications and capabilities revealed by the children's design ideas shed light on the potential of engaging children in PD activities for future AI technologies. We discuss opportunities and challenges for accessible and inclusive PD experiences with children in shaping the future of AI-powered society.

New Microsoft Search, Ideas tap AI to add smart features to Microsoft's Office 365
Smarter searches don't necessarily need to live in a search engine. This week, Microsoft will debut two tools that will live in Office: Microsoft Search and Ideas, designed to assist workers trying to dig out the document that they need, now. Microsoft hosts its Microsoft Ignite conference this week, and the company promises literally dozens of announcements--most pertaining to its Azure cloud and related services. But Microsoft also plans a few key developments at the user level, including final rollouts of features the company has announced previously, such as the ability to blur backgrounds within Microsoft Teams video chats and transcribe meetings. The two most significant announcements for Office users are probably the enhanced Microsoft Search experience, which will traverse Windows, Office.com,
